2006 Chill Out and Read Teen Reading Challenge Chill Out and Read

Since 1995, Quad-City area public libraries have challenged teens to compete to see who can read the most during the Teen Reading Challenge. Teens who read to certain levels are entered in drawings for prizes, and the library whose teens read the most gets to display a team award Challenge poster.

In 2007, the 13th Teen Reading Challenge will have the theme, "Chill Out and Read." The Teen Reading Challenge will take place from Sunday, December 16, 2007 through Saturday, January 5, 2008. Teens will be challenged to see how many minutes they can read during those three weeks!

Teams are eligible for three awards this year:
Highest average number of minutes read
Highest total number of minutes read
Special Accomplishment: an award determined by the public librarians based on special efforts to promote and execute the challenge.
