Charlet Key's report:
Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to send the minutes from Wednesday's session on regional library system collaboration. Dave Hargett and I were honored to represent PALS at that meeting. We are grateful to the other delegations for their thoughtful insights on issues facing Illinois systems.
In the meeting, it became apparent that the five systems have different agendas and timetables. While two are intent on moving forward with a full merger, PALS and others have a different pace. At this time, we prefer to focus on connections and cooperation with our peers, and not necessarily consolidation.
It was a productive discussion, and we are glad to be involved in this process of learning and discovery as we work with system colleagues statewide to find new ways to serve you better. We will be discussing these developments more fully next month at PALS Day. I hope to see you there!

PALS Board of Directors
