Poster Printing
We offer poster printing services to libraries, library systems and non-profit organizations in Illinois, and to libraries outside of Illinois. Our poster printer can print full color posters up to 44 inches wide. The posters are printed with UltraChrome ink, which is long-lasting and resistant to light damage.
This is a printing service, not a design service.
Customers are expected to send print-ready files of your poster. There will be an additional charge for staff time if any minor editing is needed before printing. Delivery will be delayed if editing is requested.
If you have questions about having your files edited at PALS, contact Poster Service by e-mail or by telephone at PALS, 309-799-3155, ext 3152 (Brenda Roman), ext 3151 (Rhonda Krahl) or ext 3150 (Judy Hutchinson).
File Requirements
To obtain the most reliable results, it is recommended that you send files to be printed in .pdf format, which can easily be attached to an e-mail message or can be sent to us on a disk. Because the size of printouts in .pdf files can be changed with no degradation in the quality, this format helps assure satisfaction with the printed poster regardless of size.
PALS owns PageMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office software, so we can print from files in formats other than .pdf, but the results are more reliable in .pdf.
Poster Sizes
When ordering a poster, specify the finished size on the order form. Posters printed from .pdf files can be resized without difficulty. Posters sent in other programs should be designed for the final printed size.
Finished poster dimensions may not be exactly as you ordered. Some posters do not enlarge or reduce to the exact dimensions without distortion, but we will keep the dimensions as accurate as possible.
Finished posters will not be trimmed. They will be sent to you exactly as they come off the printer. If you wish to have PALS staff trim your printed poster, there will be an additional charge to compensate for staff time.
