About Feeds
A feed uses a data format called RSS (or a similar format) to let you automatically receive new content from a website without having to regularly visit the site. ("RSS" usually is said to stand for "really simple syndication.") A feed is sort of like subscribing to a magazine instead of going to a store to get each issue.
To subscribe to a feed, you use an RSS reader website or program (sometimes called an aggregator). There are also options for subscribing to feeds via email.
In general, you can subscribe to a feed by pasting its web address into the reader. Subscribing to a number of different feeds makes it easy to keep on top of new information from a variety of sources.
A more detailed explanation, as well as a list of several popular aggregators, may be found on the FeedBurner Feed 101 page.
