Cast your ballot now for the Librarian's Advisory Committee
Elect four (4) Librarians to PALS Librarians' Advisory Committee
Vote on LAC slate by June 10, 2006.
A general election for representatives to PALS Librarians' Advisory Committee (LAC) from four "neighborhoods" will be held in May and early June. Terms will be for two (2) years and begin July 1, 2006. One ballot will be used system wide and every full and developmental member and contracting and cooperating library will have the right to cast an online ballot for persons running for all elective seats on the committee.
The By-Laws state that LAC'S role is to:
• serve as a formal conduit of information from PALS members to the administrative staff
• be active in evaluating membership applications and generally provide advice on membership policy issues
• undertake any additional activities and services aimed at the improvement or continued development of PALS as the Committee and the Executive Director shall mutually agree are valuable.
In addition to the eight elective seats on LAC, the PALS Executive Director also appoints seven persons. According to the LAC By-Laws, "The Executive Director shall typically make his or her selections after the election has occurred and should make selections that assure the variety of library interests in the system are represented on the committee."
Vote on slate of LAC candidates for term beginning July 1, 2006.
